Scheduling Note: While we offer and recommend the convenience of on-line appointment scheduling, all appointments scheduled on line must be confirmed by our office. Expect an email from us confirming the appointment within approximately one business day. If you have not heard from us, please send us an on-line message via the patient portal or an email requesting a confirmation.

Mackinac Neurology participates with Medicare. We do not participate with any other insurances.
You may pay at the time of the visit via credit card, electronic check or other on-line methods. We can generate a receipt for your payment, including a diagnosis and procedure code. We do not determine whether your insurance will reimburse visits. Payments are processed by a secure system. Fees are posted through the patient portal, and can be accessed prior to any visits, once you register.

When you register, we will ask for some information that can be provided on-line, through the Patient Portal. Please provide your Medicare insurance information if you have Medicare. Please provide all requested information at least 2 business days before your visit, so we may confirm it with you when you check in. This will also allow your visit to focus on your medical needs. If you were referred by your primary care provider, or wish your primary care provider to get correspondence, please make sure to furnish this information to us. In order to provide electronic prescribing, our log in forms request your pharmacy information. You may provide a local pharmacy, and mail-in pharmacy.

Mackinac Neurology is providing telemedicine services in order to make care more accessible in northern Michigan. Please note that telemedicine does not allow a direct hands-on physical examination. It can provide excellent care, but there are some limits due to the lack of direct examination. Some of this can be partly overcome by having a family member assist with the examination. In some cases, your Primary Care provider may offer to conduct the examination, for example using a nurse practitioner to assist. However, telemedicine is known to be somewhat limited in some cases. Note that if the doctor feels your care requires a direct physical examination, the doctor may recommend such a visit instead.

We will provide you the links needed to be able to use the video conferencing for your visit. We utilize secure video communications that are compliant with all requirements for patient privacy.

Mackinac Neurology does not provide after-hours, on-call or or emergency services.
For any emergency needs, please contact or go to your local hospital, emergency center or walk-in clinic.
